An apex committee “Sikkim Organic Mission” headed by the Chief Minister, Pawan Chamling, has been set up a plan to bring 58,000 hectare land under organic cultivation by 2015. West Sikkim is doing pretty well in this context. Under the first phase, 2605 hector acre has been targeted and converted to organic land while 2051 hector acre is in the process of conversion.
